SAN MATEO, Calif., January 10, 2008 - Fortify® Software, the market leader in enterprise application security solutions, today announced the appointment of Clark Newby as Vice President of Marketing. A 16-year veteran in information technology and enterprise software markets, Newby brings an impressive track record of implementing global marketing strategies to Fortify's seasoned management team as the company continues to grow its momentum into 2008 and beyond.

As Vice President of Marketing, Newby is responsible for driving marketing and brand strategy, corporate communications, demand generation and product marketing efforts.

Newby was most recently with PolyServe, a data center software company that was acquired last April by Hewlett-Packard. As VP of Marketing, Newby drove strategic marketing and communications initiatives as well as oversaw product marketing. Prior to PolyServe, he was Senior Director of Global Marketing at Mercury Interactive, where he directed worldwide marketing campaigns for the company's business technology optimization products. Newby came to Mercury in 2003 with the acquisition of Kintana, where he held positions in marketing, business development and strategic alliances, and was instrumental in creating the 'IT governance' market category. Prior to Kintana, Newby managed manufacturing industries marketing for Silicon Graphics, a high-performance server and storage vendor.
Newby holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and a master's in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
